In order for children to grow healthy and strong immune systems they need the proper nutrients in their diet. In recent studies however, it has been shown that children are low in the essential nutrients. It is essential that your child get the proper balance of vitamins such as A,C,D and E as well as fiber,iron, magnesium and phosphorus and other minerals.

 Nutrition for Children - Iron

Iron is the essential mineral for the human body to produce hemoglobin. Hemoglobin is the protein, in the red blood cells that is responsible for carrying oxygen to the rest of the body. Children need to have a variety of sources to acquire the appropriate amount, in addition children need to eat foods rich in vitamin C to help in the absorbtion of the iron. With the proper intake of iron children will not only have better brain developement, but proper muscle fution and growth.

Nutrition for Children - Iron Deficiency 

Iron deficiency can be caused by a variety of factors, however some of the signs and symptoms may be crucial to knowing what's going on with your childs health. Some of these symptoms include:

. Very pale whites of the eyes
. Decreased appetite
. Headaches
. Irritability
. Blood in stools
. Fatigue
. Brittle Nails

If you see of these signs or combination of these signs and symptoms get your child to their physcians as soon as possible, as these may be indications of something worse.
